tweets from @oregonianmusic last night: 1. The Gourds opening with Waylon made me want to hit someone with a pool cue. In a good way 2. Ray Wylie has joined the Gourds and I'm totally OK with Snake Farm for the 2nd time tonight 3. Ray Wylie joins the Gourds for 'Roll On Columbia.' The New Deal just keeps on giving...
ReplyDeleteRay Wylie and the Gourds? Good thing I wasn't there. I'd have likely passed out due to sensory overload. Or gotten "shushed" as happened last time I saw Ray Wylie at the Blue Door (OKC). Personally, I'd prefer the former to the latter. It's bad when a personal hero "shushes" you.
ReplyDeletehaha shushed by your hero! I saw the gourds at the blue door in 96 or 97...I remember claude did a tune on the accordion with the opening act (red dirt rangers) and we all ended up sleeping in the venue to save money...like, on the stage, on the dancefloor, and sh*t. the next morning, kev said there were little worms crawling up & down out of the rug he was sleeping on. true story.
ReplyDeletethe show last night was amazing!!!
