  1. "The levee gonna bust
    On your side or mine
A little dynamite on your side
Help the river make its mind"

Some of the best lyrics ever in 'Smoke Bend'...

  2. was i crazy, or was there a Not Fade Away tease towards the end as well? maybe i was hearing things... either way, great show at the kessler, probably one of my new favorite venues. very intimate room, and good sound...

  3. not fade away? hmmmm. let me check on that.

  4. Don't know about "Not Fade Away" but I know I heard the opening guitar riff from "Sweet Home Alabama" somewhere in there.

  5. p.s. the band worked from a set list during this show, which they haven't done very much of since early july of last year.

  6. So Johnny Rodriguez shows up at The Kessler on Friday, and he's never heard of The Gourds. We asked him if he wanted to get up and sing a song, so he gave me a title and key, and then I ran upstairs to the Green Room to ask the band if they've ever heard of him. They looked up his big hit on an iPhone, learned it in five minutes, and there ya go. They met onstage at The Kessler.
