What a great show! With little promotion, the band sold out the Doug Fir, which has been their favorite Portland spot for several years now. Big Daddy K opened up, with Keith on the skins and Jeff on base. Think this was our first all-electric shinyribs set at least in Portland. Some were wondering aloud if this was "Gourds lite" because of the trio, but after a few tunes the crowd clearly loved it.
ReplyDeleteThe thing that struck me about the Gourds set was how they can, at this stage in their career, start out with several older tunes from early albums - not even the "singles" per se - and still have the whole place groovin'!
