  1. It was great to have The Gourds back in Fort Party Worth (as Kev likes to call it). Especially great to have them play at one of my favorite local joints. I think the staff was a bit more laid back than the guys are used to... I heard more than one reference to their laissez faire attitude, but it all worked out. This time out I was able to get ten of my friends who are fans that have never seen them live to come to the show. And, of course, they loved it. Shake the Chandelier, Bean Bowl, and Spanky were some of the highlights of the night. Funny enough, I enjoyed Holiday Road so much during the sound check that everyone seemed sad that they wouldn't get to hear it... then Jimmy busted it out again. Great cover! I got there early and spent some time talking plumbing with a few Gourds and catching up with the others. One guy thought I was in the band and wished me a great show... haha! Always a pleasure to see my favorite band in my home town. Gourds, come back soon!
