  2. Best of the night: Bottle & a Dime. Next best: Troubled and Ants. Also, Honeysuckle and Waxie's was hot. Right up there was Oyster and Plaid Coat. County Orange was nice to hear, good but not great. Kev broke a string during the intro to Oh Sister, so Jimmy handed over his guitar and they went on with it. Show really picked up after Bottle. Before that the mix was muffled and had way too much Max. But when it evened out, it was spot on.

Overall, a really good show. I could see them like that all the time. Not uneven, it just built up and stayed hot. Next up is Friday in Austin and two weeks from Tuesday in Denton. Also thinking about Nov. 21 (Thanksgiving weekend) in Luckenbach...their soundman, Mark, said they ride around on steer with X-mas lights attached. How can I miss that????

  3. I agree, it was a really good show. Being on my birthday didn't hurt either and I even got a tip of the hat from Kev before Ants. Haven't heard Oyster live in a while and it was good. The acoustic that Kev and Max were sharing throughout the show was a 3/4 size Martin borrowed from Max's dad due to some trouble with the pickup in Kev's other one. The sound at the Granada is never great, but The Gourds always bring it, so no complaints.
