  2. back on June 20 I said: "Now I know Jimmy was just a-goofin' with that Truckin' snippet in Bend last year, it's well documented, but it would be very cool to see some sort of nod to the sacred site at Veneta on 7/11. I don't expect a Dark Star or a Playin' but Deal would be cool...In fact, I was at the gym yesterday and my ipod shuffled me Do 4 U > Deal (from 10/16/89) and it struck me how the Gourds could do Deal effortlessly and make it their own".

    Well, whether the boys knew it or not, they DID make a nod to 8/27/72 by playing Promised Land, which of course opened the legendary festivities way back 37 years ago...


    ps--they could own Cumberland Blues as well. Just sayin'.....
